Certification.UseoftheremainingTIA
languageisencouragedwhenappropriate.
Exposure to Radio Frequency
Signal
Yourwirelesshandheldportabletelephone
isalowpowerradiotransmitterand
receiver.WhenitisON,itreceivesandalso
sendsoutradiofrequency(RF)signals.In
August,1996,theFederalCommunications
Commissions(FCC)adoptedRFexposure
guidelineswithsafetylevelsforhandheld
wirelessphones.
Thoseguidelinesareconsistentwiththe
safetystandardspreviouslysetbybothU.S.
andinternationalstandardsbodies:

ICNIRP(1996)
Thosestandardswerebasedon
comprehensiveandperiodicevaluations
oftherelevantscientificliterature.For
example,over120scientists,engineers,and
physiciansfromuniversities,government
healthagencies,andindustryreviewedthe
availablebodyofresearchtodevelopthe
ANSIStandard(C95.1).
